Terminal Block

In an automation company, a project engineer named Kevin was designing a control panel for the first time.
While checking the terminal block catalog, he was confused:

“Why are some terminal blocks modular, like TD?
And why are others fixed, like TC?”

He asked a senior electrical engineer, Mr. Zhou, for guidance.

Instead of explaining with technical data, Mr. Zhou took Kevin to the workshop.

They first stopped at a custom-built automation machine.
The wiring was complex, and the customer often requested design changes.

Mr. Zhou pointed to the terminal block and said:

“This is a TD modular terminal block.
You can assemble as many terminals as needed and mix different functions.
If the wiring changes later, you simply add or replace individual modules.”

Then they walked to a standard distribution panel.
The circuit quantity was fixed, and every unit looked exactly the same.

Mr. Zhou smiled and explained:

“Here, a TC fixed terminal block is the better choice.
It is pre-assembled, easy to install, cost-effective, and reduces installation errors.”

At that moment, Kevin understood:
The choice between modular and fixed terminal blocks is not about quality, but about flexibility versus efficiency.
