FDFN and FDFNY

Tom noticed:

· FDFN has an open crimp end

· FDFNY has an insulated crimp end

He asked why.

The technician said:

“FDFN is non-insulated—more flexible but needs extra insulation.
FDFNY is pre-insulated—safer and easier to use.”

Tom understood:

One is for flexibility and cost, the other for safety and convenience.
