Heat Shrink Terminals Introduction
A heat shrink terminal is an electrical accessory used for wire connections. It typically consists of two parts: a metal barrel (usually copper) at the front for crimping the wire conductor, and a section of heat shrink tubing at the rear.
When heated with a heat gun or carefully with a lighter, the tubing shrinks uniformly, forming a tight seal over the crimp and the wire insulation.
