Once upon a time in a busy workshop, an electrician named Tom was preparing to finish a big project. On his workbench, two wire nuts sat side by side — one labeled SP and the other CE.
Tom picked up the SP wire nut first. It was simple and practical, made with a steel spring inside. “I’m strong and reliable,” said SP, “and I grip the wires tightly with my spring. Electricians like me because I get the job done without being complicated.”
Then Tom turned to the CE wire nut. CE looked almost the same but had a slightly different structure. “I also have a spring inside,” CE explained, “but I’m built to meet European safety standards. I follow stricter rules about insulation and performance, so I’m often used in projects where certifications matter.”
The two wire nuts looked at each other and laughed.
“We both connect wires safely,” SP said.
“And we both prevent loose contacts and sparks,” added CE.

Tom smiled as he listened. “So, you’re like brothers — same purpose, but with different training. SP is straightforward and widely used, while CE is certified for stricter standards.”
In the end, Tom used both of them in different parts of his project, knowing that whether he chose SP or CE, the wires would be safe and secure
