Fuse

A fuse is a safety device installed in an electrical circuit. Its core function is to "sacrifice itself to protect the whole." When the current abnormally exceeds a specified value for a certain period, the fuse will melt itself to break the circuit, thereby preventing equipment damage, circuit overheating, and the risk of fire.

Key Components:

Fuse Element: The core part, typically made of low-melting-point metal (e.g., zinc, copper, silver alloy), which is highly sensitive to current.

End Caps/Contacts: Usually two, located at both ends of the fuse, used to connect to the circuit and the holder.

Body/Housing: Typically made of ceramic, glass, or plastic, it encloses the fuse element and contains the arc generated when it blows.
