Once upon a time in a busy shipyard, an electrician named Leo was installing power cables in a control cabinet. He was using SC terminals to connect thick copper wires. One day, in a rush to finish his work before a storm rolled in, Leo forgot to strip enough insulation from one of the cables.

A week later, the system started malfunctioning. After hours of troubleshooting, the team finally discovered the issue: a poor connection caused by the unstripped wire inside the terminal.

After this incident, the shipyard updated their wiring standard:
Only SC terminals with inspection holes were allowed. The small hole allowed electricians to check whether the copper wire was inserted properly before crimping — preventing hidden mistakes like Leo’s.

He crimped the terminal tightly and everything looked fine from the outside. However, because there was no inspection hole, the insulation was stuck inside the crimped part — making the electrical contact unreliable.
